Shell Lake Summer 2021

 We had another fabulous summer enjoying the cabin at Shell Lake. We did lots of swimming and boating and tubing. Didi got to enjoy the place for the first time and I watched the giantest snake ever eat a giant toad. This summer was special because it was the first time we have ever brought friends along. We couldn’t have asked for a better time then we had with Keith, Emily and Harvey. 

Summer 2021

This summer was a blast! We officially settled into our home and it’s been a beautiful place to make summer memories. It was a blessing to feel like we could safely enjoy time in the community again with friends and family. There were so many special moments but here are just a few:

Twins game with my favorites.

Eli and Alli finally got married and it was amazing.

Baby Anders was born and I held him.

I (Heidi) dyed my hair hot pink.

We visited the Payne Kures for some shinanigans.

Lauren plans the best summer stuff.

Bowie ran track and field.

We went on a canoe trip.

The neighborhood had a lot of fun get togethers. Here are the kids with about 100 glow sticks.

Don’t worry we ate a lot of ice cream.

The neighborhood kids had a mega water fight in the circle. 

I hosted my own version of an almost 20 year high school reunion.

2nd Grade!

 We have a second grader. The reviews so far are mixed. Bowie is not interested in having to do work and claims his classmates are derps. He likes his teacher, Dr. Cooper, and the fact that he can go to school in person for regular hours is exciting.

Bowie is 7 so we went to Chicago

Bowie turned 7. We hosted a Minecraft backyard party for him with all his silly neighborhood dude friends. He also celebrated with both sets of my parents and had his fair share of sugar.

For Bowie’s 7th birthday we took him to Chicago for a long weekend. We stayed in a beautiful Airbnb near the Lincoln Park Zoo. We visited the Shedd Aquarium, Millennium Park and rode the train. We were able to visit Marc and Janice and see their beautiful new home. Janice generously got into the Field Museum and showed us where she works and what she builds there (spoiler check out the amazing dinosaur bone she recreated). Bowies favorite parts included buying Pokémon cards from a comic book store and riding in an Uber.
