Bayfield

We sprang Bowie from Kindergarten for a couple of days to venture North for a fall vacation to Bayfield. Our friend Kelsey recently purchased a property there that she has made available on Airbnb. You can check it out (and I highly recommend you do if you're headed there) at: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/19966336. We ate at so many yummy restaurants including our most favorite, Fat Radish. Bowie liked Morty's Bar because he got to play video games. We were able to take the Ferry to Madeline Island for a hike and went swimming at the local rec. center, which has a fantastic saline pool. We spend a lot of time just relaxing and napping and watching movies and snuggling and everything good you could hope to do with your family. On a related note I won 'Mom of the Year' by forgetting to pack any underwear for Bowie. He wore one pair for 4 days solid and didn't have any accidents so that was pretty cool.

Summer 2019

I didn't take nearly enough photos to capture all of our adventures. Here are a few that should spark some memories.
Bowie and River at his 5th birthday party at Lake Nokomis Park.

Friends who mask together

Apparently Emmy and I kayak on the same day every year. We brought Carly this year.

Hot Wheels 5th birthday cake!

First catch of the summer!

A highlight of my summer was the custard from Sprinkles Hmong Village

Bowie with his buddy Simon

Duluth, UP and back through WI.

We were so blessed to spend a lot of time out of town this summer. We got more than our fair share of time on beautiful lakes throughout the Midwest and spending time with some or our favorite people. Bowie started kindergarten mid-week so I had taken time off anyway and then Josh realized he could take the time off too. We decided to take one last family vacation before Bowie started kindergarten and it all came together to meet up with Josh's cousins and their families in Michigan. We went up through Duluth and home through Wisconsin and made some fantastic memories.
First time at Tobies.

We are HUGE fans of Duluth Grill and their HUGE pancakes.

We stopped at the Porcupine Mountains on our way through MI and did a gorgeous waterfall walk.

Lots of 4 wheeling with Nicole and Elias at the wheel.

Night fishing.

We brought the whole gang to the brewery in Houghton. Not an easy feat but we are pros.

The women escape to the Mosquito Inn.

We made sure to spend some time at Franconia on our way home through Wisconsin. Always a favorite.
