Summer roadtrip ‘24 featuring Cat & Thomas

We road-tripped to Des Moines to stake out Cat and Thomas’ life there before whisking them away to St. Louis with us. Here are some highlights:

First off, Cat & Thomas have the cutest house(s) and dogs. We shopped around Des Moines (Raygun is worth the hype and has a play area for kids!) went to the Farmers Market for dinner, played with Royal and Luna and marveled at how much Thomas runs each day (it’s, like, a lot and I’m very proud of him).

Then we went to St. Louis and stayed in the coolest Airbnb (the little school) in the Soulard neighborhood. Soulard is super walkable with lots to do and has a total New Orleans Mardi Gras vibe and a lot of people drinking and driving golf carts, which is apparently a thing there. Our Airbnb came with a giant dog downstairs named Skip.

We had dinner at Terror Tacos which is a feast for the eyes and tummy:

We did two main events. The first was City Museum, which was even better than I remembered! We saw a circus there and climbed through the caves and the aquarium and through all the outdoor tubes and slides too. It was exhausting and amazing.

We also went up the St. Louis Arch. This is not an activity I would recommend. It was even more terrifying than I expected. Did you know you go up in a tiny pod? Did you know you can feel it swaying? I hated it.

Here I am having a small panic attack and holding onto this beam like it will save me.

Some people liked this small pod. Most did not.

The boys looked out the scary arch windows and seemed to enjoy their experience.

Finally, we tried to go to the zoo but it was too busy there so we went to a graffiti wall instead and that was chill.

Overall another Witt-Bachman adventure success. We are so grateful Cat and Thomas could join us and we love them so much 💕💕💕
