We spent two nights in The Love Nest at the Madonna Inn. This place is hard to describe and these photos do not do it justice. This has been a dream of mine to visit for a long long time and it did not disappoint. There are lots of sparkles and pink and kitsch here and it felt like my happiest place. I can’t stand how much I loved it. I managed to make some like minded friends and was invited to/ snuck into as many rooms as possible. Josh was just happy to play tennis- even on a pink court. We also explored the town of San Luis Obispo and it was so cute and fun.

Plants
I visited a succulent and cactus farm and my heart exploded.
Big Sur also had some pretty spectacular growth. Orange poppies we’re in bloom and it was a feast for the eyeballs.
Santa Cruz, Big Sur, Redwood trees & Hwy 1
We stayed 4 nights in Santa Cruz at a fantastic Airbnb. From there we visited Henry Crowell Redwoods State Park and spent two days exploring Big Sur and the coast off hwy 1. More photos will be coming once my film is processed but we also got lots of good snaps on our phones. Enjoy!
We discovered a secret spot in the mountains with a waterfall and bridge.Burritos and music pit stop in Pescadero did NOT disappoint.
The sand at Pfeiffer Park was legit PINK!
Breakfast in a VW at Paulas.
At Point Lobos we saw seals and their pups, dolphins and sea otters. And lots of ‘em!

Film
I finally got a new camera and am taking film photos again and it is bringing me joy. I’m using a Canon z135. It’s a low pressure camera with an automatic focus and a zoom option. It’s doing really well with lomo film so far. I think the results are great. Here are a few keepers from my first rolls.
